The NICE K-12 Cybersecurity Education Conference will feature timely and thought-provoking presentations that highlight effective collaborations, bold experiments and innovations, and other potentially game-changing methods in support of bringing together cybersecurity workforce, training, and educational leaders from academia, business, and government for two days of focused hands-on workshop and discussion in support of the NICE strategic goals.

The National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) will host an event at the National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE) to officially launch the first Annual National Cybersecurity Career Awareness Week to inspire and promote awareness and exploration of cybersecurity careers for children through adults. National Cybersecurity Career Awareness Week takes place during November’s National Career Development Month (link is external), and each day of the week-long celebration will provide opportunities to learn about the contributions, innovations, and opportunities that can be found by exploring cybersecurity as a field of study or career choice.

CSAW is the largest student-run cyber security event in the world, featuring international competitions, workshops, and industry events.

This year’s theme, “Challenging the Status Quo: Building a Robust and Sustainable Cybersecurity Ecosystem,” was chosen to inspire presentations that aim to shape the way in which the nation identifies, educates, trains and builds a 21st century cutting-edge Cybersecurity Ecosystem.
The conference will feature three tracks:
- Developing Cybersecurity Talent through Education and Training
This track features initiatives and innovations for identifying, recruiting, and educating the future cybersecurity workforce. Sessions will include creative programs to inspire the next generation of STEM and cybersecurity workforce. - Nurturing Cybersecurity Communities through Academia, Industry, and Government Collaboration
Collaboration focuses on creative ways that industry and government work with academia to address the growing gap between cybersecurity job postings and the available pipeline of cybersecurity professionals. - Professional Development
Professional Development covers the requirements to stay up-to-date in a fast-paced environment: technical education, professional certifications, career development, diversity issues, retention concerns, and staff and personnel management.

Altroconsumo is projected in the future with the fifth edition of its Festival, which will be held this year at the Unicredit Pavilion in Milan on 4 and 5 November. The title of the event, “The Revolution of Things.” The purpose is to understand how digital services will develop in the future. Poste Italiane will be present at the event with its Awareness Campaign that includes the Exhibition Social Media Victims Heroes, the CyberSecQuiz and the Awareness Videos about cyber security

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will hold a workshop on cybersecurity workforce development on Wednesday, August 2, 2017. The workshop will help in carrying out a study called for in Executive Order 13800, “Strengthening the Cybersecurity of Federal Networks and Critical Infrastructure(link is external) “1 . With respect to cybersecurity workforce development, the Executive Order directs the Secretary of Commerce, in conjunction with the Secretary of Homeland Security and in consultation with other Federal Departments and Agencies, to assess the scope and sufficiency of efforts to educate and train the American cybersecurity workforce of the future. This includes cybersecurity-related education curricula, training, and apprenticeship programs, from primary through higher education. The order also calls for a report to the President with findings and recommendations regarding how to support the growth and sustainment of the Nation’s cybersecurity workforce in the public and private sectors.
